Hoya burtoniae is a rare and eye-catching variety of the classic Hoya burtoniae, prized for its small, fuzzy, almond-shaped leaves featuring soft variegation in shades of cream, pale yellow, or pink. The leaves often take on a reddish or bronze hue under strong light, especially where variegation is present. Its trailing growth habit makes it ideal for hanging baskets, shelves, or cascading arrangements.

When mature, it produces clusters of fuzzy, star-shaped flowers in shades of pink to deep red, with a sweet, fruity fragrance.

  • Bright, indirect light is best.

  • Prefers slightly dry conditions over being constantly moist.  Use a pot with drainage to prevent root rot.

  • Use a chunky, well-draining mix such as orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir or peat.  A mix formulated for epiphytes or Hoyas is ideal.
